Publishing Timeline from Start to Finish
We know how it is. You're excited. You want to know what to expect and how long it's going to take before you get a copy of your first book in hand. Understand that every agent and every publishing house is different and no publishing story is the same. The type of book being published can play a big role in how long the total production time will take. Also, revisions can drastically change the amount of time it will take before your book is available for distribution. Once you've signed a contract with a publisher you can expect to receive some sort of general timeline from them. This list is only an estimate created with the intent to give you a very rough idea of what you might be able to expect.
This timeline begins from the time an agent is secured to represent your book.
